Sneaky Snacks: Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies Review

A Food Sensitive Snack Review Series

The devil works hard but the instagram algorithm works harder. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies was a late night impulse purchase (IYKYK). I spent $25 on cookies so you wouldn’t have to - also can I write this off now that I have a blog? Someone in finance please dm me. Anyway, let’s get into

About:

Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies is the first ever zero sugar creme cookies designed to bring the joy of childhood cookies to the health conscious/fitness lovers of the world. Sundays is a relatively young company founded in 2022. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies is based in Canada and ships to the lower 48 states (no Hawaii or Alaska). So far the only way to purchase these cookies is via their website eatsundays.com or Amazon.

Flavors tried: Classic (aka Oreo flavor) - only current flavor

Dietary Considerations: Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies are NOT dairy free. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies utilize whey protein isolate which on average contain .1 gram of lactose. If you are lactose intolerant these are not for you, but if you like me are more dairy sensitive, proceed with caution. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies are however gluten free and Kosher. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies use allulose and monk fruit extract to sweeten their cookies. Allulose is a naturally occurring sugar found in things such as figs and molasses. Allulose is not metabolized by the body and therefore does not spike blood sugar or insulin levels and has provides little calories (source: Google search). Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies contains 7g of protein per serving (3 cookies) and offers a neat little math problem to figure out the net carbs (16g total - 3g fiber -12g Allulose = 1g net carbs), if you care about things like that.

Price:

Ridiculously Expensive. Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies can only be bought in packs of 3 or 6 on their website costing $35.97 (plus shipping) and $68.34 respectively. Amazon also offers a 2 pack for around $25. Each pack contains 21 cookies. Over $10 for a box of cookies, zero sugar or not is just too much. Perhaps as the company grows the prices will come down.

Taste:

Sundays Zero Sugar Creme Cookies boast having no weird aftertaste and no weird texture, but I would beg to differ. The cookie itself tastes stale. There is no snap like there is with a typical creme filled cookie which was not appealing. As far as the after taste…it started the second I bit the cookie. I ate way more cookies than I would have like to try and describe it but the best I can come up with is a mix of bitter and sour. Not pleasant for a chocolate cookie. All in all - it is gross.

Overall ”Sneaky” Score:

4. Try Another Bite, But Ultimately Give It to Your Boyfriend to Eat

Wrap Up:

I did not like these….at all. For me the zero sugar/no calories was not worth the bitter/sour after taste (or really during taste). I will say my boyfriend LOVES these. If given the chance he probably would have eaten the whole box in one go. If you are someone who loves a good chocolate creme cookie (Oreo) and are watching your sugar/caloric intake and don’t mind spending a pretty penny it may be worth the one time purchase, but for me this is a cautionary tale of indulging in the late night instagram purchases.

See you next week for the fourth installment of Sneaky Snacks: A Food Sensitive Snack Review Series
